In case of simultaneous interpretation, the interpretation will take place constantly, at the same time as the speaker. Simultaneous interpretation is used, for example, at official lectures, speeches with a large auditorium – in situations where the accuracy and speed of transmitting information is important.
The biggest advantage of simultaneous interpretation is precisely the speed of transmitting information. Two interpreters carry out simultaneous interpretation at one time. In case of a speech to a smaller auditorium and if the speech that lasts for a shorter time, one interpreter is also able to ensure adequate quality, but this is not very common.
Interpretation at events presumes the availability of special interpretation equipment: headphones for listeners, microphone for the speaker and a special booth for interpreters. Larger companies who rent conference rooms to organise events usually have this equipment already available on site. If the equipment isn’t available, we can assist you with sourcing it.
